I had hoped to be a bit more prompt with this year’s Frugal Film Project, but here I am playing catch-up yet again, having only just developed the two rolls I exposed for it in May! The good news is I also developed the June and July rolls, so you will get to see those soon.
For all the years I’ve lived in Round Rock, I had never been to any of the Pioneer Days festivities, until this year! Not only did it sound like the perfect place to make some photos with my Diana F, there was also a photowalk organized by my friend David Valdez. (If y’all don’t know his work, check out his instagram. He’s a legend!)
Well, the photowalk was at 10am and I was extra not a morning person that day, so I missed it, and it started raining two minutes after I arrived, but I made it! (I went to this event.) The bad weather made it darker and therefore more challenging for the Diana, but I’m still really happy with the photographs I came away with that day.

All of the demos were shutting down not long after I arrived (like I said: LATE), so next year I am hoping to be a bit more organized.

One thing I noticed with these couple of rolls is that sometimes the viewfinder was more “off” than with my other Diana. I don’t recall cropping the photographs quite like they came out, like this next one, for example:

I’m almost positive I meant to include his whole head. But hey in the moment, who knows, maybe it was intentional. The folks at Lomography love to say how Diana is unpredictable, “and so are you.”

As a little bonus, here are two photos from the Texas State Cemetery that were leftover from April’s outing there. These were on one of the rolls I exposed in May.

Again with me wondering about the viewfinder on that last photo! But I still like it. Thanks for looking!
