One Pack of Keith Haring Polaroid Film, in Waco

When Polaroid released a special edition of color film based on Keith Haring’s artwork, I snapped up a few packs and hoarded them for “just the right” situation. Street art / graffiti seemed like the perfect subject, but I didn’t always score with my efforts. A year or two ago, I attempted to use it on a trip to downtown Waco, but it was so cold that day the film refused to cooperate. My most recent trip to Waco for photography, however, coincided with a gloriously warm, sunny day! I am thrilled to share the results with you today.

I may as well start with my favorite:

A fun component of using any of the special frame editions of polaroid film is not knowing what will pop out next. I had no idea how my images would line up with the frame surrounding them.

Downtown Waco has a lot of great murals! I know I didn’t catch all of them, but that just means I get to look forward to another trip.

This one has been around for as long as I can remember.. . . .

Below are some new ones (as far as I’m aware! I hadn’t seen them before)

When it comes to “grow with the flow,” I can’t say how much I am on board with some of the growth Waco is experiencing. . . . Maybe I don’t have much right to comment, since I don’t live there anymore. I love seeing the downtown revitalized, but my heart trembles at the thought of my hometown changing too much in some of the ways that cities are changing these days. I’m hoping for the best for the future!
