Happy Earth Day! Last weekend, I ended up on a spur of the moment lark of a lovely little hike in Georgetown, Texas, right next to the San Gabriel River. It reminded me of a hike I made last summer in Colorado Bend State Park.

Since it was nearly Polaroid Week , and since I had a few packs of the newly re-released Polaroid Round Frame film, my BFF Polaroid Now camera came along with me. I’m sharing the results of the whole pack with you here, because after just one sheet of film I was completely smitten!

I love how it turns every shot into a little vignette. It’s like it pops it into a frame for you, and elevates it to something that presents itself gorgeously without needing any further presentation at all.

Round planet, cycles, circles, the ring around a finger that encircles and binds in the most loving way – round frame! I’m glad I have a bumper crop in the fridge; I think these little gems will be the star of all my upcoming road trips.

Possibly even while you are reading this, I am on the same hike again, this time with more people! I hope that however you are celebrating this gorgeous Earth of ours today, it’s with a camera and a friend in tow, even if that friend is just your own happy heart.
